Biological Parents, Adoptive Parents, Step-Parents, Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles, Siblings-Alike.
It’s not easy to be a caregiver. It’s even more difficult to drop our pride and power statuses we have over one another. As humans, it can be difficult to differentiate our roles to unique circumstances.
The goal as family members is to meet one another on the level at which we are all at. What does that mean?! Well… whether you need to be meeting at one another at eye-level height for a conversation, or just trying to de-escalate or match at a more neutral tone, we have to find balance with one another to authentically show that we are actively trying to foster a valuable relationship with one another.
